Kyocera Wireless Corp. Introduces the 3225 Featuring BREW and FunLights
LAS VEGAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 16, 2002-- Kyocera Wireless Corp. today introduced its newest handset, the Kyocera 3225, at the CTIA Wireless IT show.
The first handset in Kyocera's 3200 Series, the 3225 features BREW, an operating system allowing users to customize their phones by downloading applications, and FunLights surrounding the phone's display. It also comes equipped with Assisted Global Positioning System (AGPS) position-location technology and CDMA 2000 1X technology, with data speeds up to 153 kbps.
With BREW, users of the 3225 are able to download screen savers, ring tones, games and other entertaining applications. The phone's multi-color FunLights, which adorn the perimeter of the 3225's data-friendly seven-line display, can be customized for various phone functions such as gaming, incoming calls and alerts.

The Kyocera 3225 includes an easy-to-read, grayscale display, along with Kyocera's signature brilliant blue backlighting for improved rendering of animations commonly used in games and on the Web. As with all Kyocera Wireless handsets, the 3225 is a tri-mode digital phone, operating on CDMA PCS (1900 MHz), CDMA cellular (800 MHz) and analog cellular networks.
Enhanced features include a built-in speakerphone, 25 standard MIDI ringers plus vibrate alert, Internet access, electronic games (including Tetris®, Run 21(TM) and Doodler(TM)), voice-activated dialing, two-way messaging (depending on services available from service providers), and productivity tools including calculator, scheduler, alarm clock and stopwatch. The 3225 measures 4.37 in. x 1.97 in. x 1.02 in. (11.1 cm x 5.0 cm x 2.6 cm) and weighs 4.23 ounces (120 grams).
