Not having a gmail email account, I am just curious in passing. Will this require the omnia to be always network connected rather than just phone service connected?
If so, what would this do to the battery life over the course of a day?

Yes it will require a data connection to always remain connected. I currently have this setup for my corp email. My battery lasts about 2 days with this setup.
wont work properly if you already have a exchange server on your device (win mo) since the win mo devices only allow for one exchange type server...ill continue to let my BB tour push/pull my gmail email ane leave my PRO2 for my exchange stuff...

I hear a rumor that WinMo 7 will allow multiple exchange servers. Maybe even the official release or an update to WinMo 6.5.
I have been waiting for this day! it I just set it up and it works, although a couple of my email messages say they cannot display html, but other can.
Finally Gmail offers Push gmail service on Windows Mobile. Been waiting a long time for this. I just set it up, takes just a few minutes, nice and easy. I sent my self a few test emails from my PC and badabing, they came right in!!
*Notes, the screenshots and descriptions and are a little different than what you will actually see on the device. Basically you just need to add a new server source then you will need:
your email address,
your user name which is also your full email address joeshmoe @ gmail.com, your password,
and the server which is m.google.com.
hmmm...I thought they had this for a little while now. I've been using the calendar sync instead of my oulook calendar at home (connecting to the pc) because I can add events on my calendar at work and at home and then snyc it to my phone.
Can you set up more than one activesync email account or do I have to choose between my corporate email and gmail for push email? I couldn't find a way to set up a second.
