The XP phone
Here's an old news bit that has resurfaced. ITG is announcing the XP phone. Here's one of many links on the device.
Windows XP phone gets details, pictures

I think this could be a good thing... As the second article mentions could this be too late> I don't think so, its a start! Heck XP will be around for a few more years! Granted this is an early run at putting a desktop OS on an a Smartphone. I seems more like a mini tablet PC.. isn't that what a Smartphone is kind of? But here's what I find compelling. You wouldn't have to sync your phone with your PC! It IS your PC. You could place it in a docking station and connect to your monitor, mouse keyboard and run it as your desktop PC... Kind of like how some road warrior business people use their Netbooks now. Or just connect it to your network and COPY the files or content you need to it.. no more converting files to the "Pocket version" of the file via a Sync. Now I really can run my old PC apps on my phone rather than looking for a "scaled back, watered down, mobile" version. Quickbooks you're coming with me!, PC games-oh yeah! Excel with all the functions!
ooh I'm all tingley
Mark
