Looking for 'Locate Me' App

I will be traveling by car across the country over the holidays. I would like to find an app (preferably freeware) that will periodically post my location to a website so family members can track our progress.

Does anyone know of such an app/service?

Tracy (Tracky) has that functionality. The application is a little buggy, but when it works, it has worked well. While there is a trial version, I believe you'll have to register and pay for it to use the web-based tracking feature.

There are a lot out there.

Two that I use:

Tiny Twitter Tiny Twitter - mobile twitter app by kevin cawley which can post your location (nearest address and coordinates) to Twitter, but you have to manually tell it to do so (only takes a few seconds though).

Remote Tracker RemoteTracker SourceForge which automatically and silently responds by SMS or email with your location to a specially formatted SMS (designed for finding a lost or stolen phone, but would fit your needs as well). You can even tell it to track for a while and it responds with a Google Earth KMZ file of your track.

Both are free.

Very well done system, but $99 for the starter pack of 5 users. There are too many free or cheap alternatives I think.

I was looking around for something else this evening, and I think I found exactly what you were looking for. Mologogo: The GPS phone tracking social network & friend finding for Nextel, Boost, Blackberry and Windows Mobile Phones with GPS updates your location on a schedule, you can give a web link to your family and they can see where you are. Also updates Twitter or even your own web server.
