Advice for a pda phone in Australia.

First off, let me just say hi, i found this sight alittle while ago and love it.

From what ive gathered, most of this forum is located in the USA. And it seems that most pdaPhones are too

This is a good thing if you live in the USA, alas, if your a hard working Aussie with a need for a all-in-one Pda + Phone, your out of luck.

So the question i have is, I would be looking to buy a pdaPhone from the states, But it seems all the quality one are CDMA, which i know nothing about, would one work here? Do the use SIM cards like GSM phones?

I know the network im with here uses 900Mhz GSM.

Or if a CDMA phone wouldnt work here, what is the most feature packed GSM pdaPhone?

Right know i have an old Nokia and a Viewsonic v37 Pda.

Idealy i would prefer a Pocket PC device, as i find it alittle easier to work with then the palms. So any advice would be much appricated.

Thanks

Ps. Does anyone know any more on the Ipaq one that went on ebay? I hope they put an Ipaq pdaPhone out, ill be on that real quick, Looks like a little beuty.

Hey, it is perfectly normal to be a hard-working joe even if you are an Aussie!!! and you have come to the right site where people are free to help any one!!!.
OK, lets start with the CDMA phones... No these don't use SIM cards.
You need GSM compatible phones.
Next...Please be very careful buying SIM based phones.. most of them are "locked" phones, so if you purchase one and it needs to be unlocked you will be needing certain unlock codes only the carrier who originally sold has it...which makes your life a little crazy as you may not be able to find that unlock code and then there will be "certain people" who claim they have the code and it will cost a certain amount...I don't need to go any further as you can guess what I am implying.
We don't have the iPaq/phone released here.
A pocket pc/phone device that is compatible with Aussie cellular service is a little hard to find, but never the less available.
IMHO...you might be better off buying a PPC/Phone if a local cellular service provider has available.
If you can provide us with a little more info on your exact requirements it is possible some one here might steer you in the right direction.
