How can I physically remove the camera?

I would love to get this phone, but I am not permitted to have a camera phone at work. I have seen step-by-step disassembly guides to remove the camera for the RAZR, etc, but nothing for this phone. Can anyone help me? I could drill out the camera (I have done it on a previous cheap phone), but really don't want to do this for this phone.

Thanks!

Send a message via ICQ to dangerous

Sorry to say this. "Get a new Job".

Actually, I will be in the same boat as you if my facility goes "secure", no camera phones etc.

Can't you just epoxy over the lens? Maybe some silver spray paint? The lens area is pretty smooth where you could just put some filler over it, sand it down, and paint it silver?

or how about just drive a screwdriver through the camera hole? It would be pretty obvious it is non-functional. Not sure how removing it would be much different in that case?

How about a software disable?

Does anyone know of a way to disable the camera in software? I would love to change the camera button to an "ingore call" button so that I do not need to open the phone to ignore a call.

If they strictly will not let you have it, and don't buy the removal of the camera, I'de grab a Samsung i600.
It's kinda like the pantech, flip phone and all, no camera, just runs on 2003 and weighs enough to do bicep curls with. In truth, I like that phone. It's built like a tank! I have one myself that I'll activate from time to time to upgrade, etc. Dirt cheap to buy a new one, check it out!
