Extended Battery HQ Pictures

Just got my Extended Battery in today... much more solid feel with the bigger battery, and it seems to 'fill up' the back of the phone, a little more to hold on to... I will report on the use after a day or so, maybe Monday...

I've been using the extended battery for the past couple of days, and it is definitely more practical than the standard battery. I have come to accept the fact that if you carry a Windows Mobile device, you either need to carry a backup battery and/or go with an extended battery. It just sucks that you have to drop $50 bucks for it! I wish VZW would give the option to purchase the PN-820 with the extended battery versus the standard battery that came with the phone...

...or maybe even include it, like they did with the i730! =)

this phone is very fairly priced... paying extra for the extended battery is nothing. as far as the extended being a necessity, definately a must... i have had mine on ALL DAY with moderate usage and STILL show full battery of bars. ill keep the standard charged for a backup!

the phone feels more complete with it as well... just look at the pics, it looks much better with the extended battery!

Can someone tell me where they got their extended battery from? I am in Southern California and just getting the phone is hard. I have it and now trying to find any accessories is very hard. Can't the battery at VZW online, in stores or on ebay....Help. Thanks

Do not buy it from the guy with the store on ebay. He never sent it, I think it was a scam. It was 40 bucks.

I reported it and got a refund. I am looking also in San Diego for the battery and it is hard to find. Please let us know how you like it after a week or so.

I got mine from Verizon. They shipped it to my house with 2nd day air for no extra cost. Just go into the store and they can special order it for you. I had mine 2 days later

Extended batteries out of stock

I went to the VZ store today. The warehouse that supplies the Seattle area is out of stock. PAN820BATX is the part number. If someone finds a store with a battery could you please post.
Thanks

Batteries in stock now.

They are now in stock. As of yesterday they had 100 in the warehouse. I called my Verizon rep and he is sending one to my house.

Ditto that. I stopped by a VZW store yesterday and did the same thing. Should have it in a few working days he said. YAY, finally!

I just got the extended battery last week. I noticed that
when I go to the power management menu after the fully charged message
the Main Battery bar is not completely blue. Is that normal? The outside
battery shows fully charged.

Just curious,

Thanks,

Rob

That isn't uncommon. Sometimes my extended life battery shows 99% sometimes 100%. Using RESCO System Toys, I can see a more exact defining number than the power management shows. I'd say you are fine and it is working as normal. Enjoy it in good health!

I completely disagree about the extended battery. IT SHOULD be included. This phone is almost not usable without it.

Samsung i-730 included a xtended and regular battery which is what this phone should do also. Even if they added it to the price would be fine, but this phone needs the larger battery and it would probably help the regular user who wouldn't think about upgrading.

I get about a day and 1/2 of heavy usage from the extended battery. But I recommend you stash the backup regular battery near by. My experience is that when the extended battery does die, it goes from reading about 75 percent to dead in a heartbeat. Very little warning.

Hey all, I got the extended battery a few days ago and have been using it since last Friday. (I write this on the 21st, Tuesday night.) I used to drain the regular battery in a day quite often... all you have to do is get on the internet :S

When I put the extended battery onto the phone and held it for the first time, It really made the phone feel perfect. The extra size is just what you need to get a better grip on this excellent little electronic marvel. Much recommended. The regular battery is fully charged and in my daypack, but I doubt I'll need it...

BTW to check battery level just use the voice command -- hold voice command button and say "What is the battery level?" -- The phone will respond "The battery level is XX percent."

I agree with sanjonny's comment about how verizon should include the extended battery. -- simply to come close to the advertised talktime specs on verizon's site.

Is anyone in here able to approach the official specification estimates for battery life on the 950mAh battery? From verizon's site: Talktime 200mins max Standby time 145hrs max.

I fall short of those numbers by quite a bit, and I don't even use data! I make on and off calls for about 45-60mins a day and if i don't charge overnight, then my phone will have only about 20 mins of talk time the next day. Is this typical with the standard battery!?

Thanks in advance

I would have VZW replace either the Phone or the Battery, it should drop at a steady rate, not going from 75% down to nothing.

Mine will last 2 days with POP checking every hour and PUSH enabled. and Of course 60+mins of calls per day.

The battery tracker included in the phone is not that good. It will routinely say 75 and then after a few calls it will drop fast. You need an external one that tracks more reliably. I use Fizz monitor and it will many times say 50% while the phone says 75 using the extended battery. Fizz is much better. I do not think it is a phone problem at all.

Does the PN-820 now come standard with the extended batt?

I was just on verizon's website where they are still selling the PN-820 (for $30), and the pic shows it with the extended battery intact, however the specs still list the 950mAh batt.

Does anyone know if the phone now comes with the extended batt (which it should have in the first place).
