custom sounds >.<

hi all, I've been trolling this ENTIRE site looking for how to add custom sounds for text messages, alarms and such. I know how to add ringtones, but can't for the life of me get text/alarms to work... all the threads I've seen have "check here to see how to do it" and link out to the old wiki site that is closed down.

if anyone could please help I would greatly appreciate it!

All you do is add a .wav file to the windows folder and you'll find them in the dropdown menu under the sounds setting. I still have my PN820 but rarely use it now that I have a Blackberry Tour.

I do that and it shows up only as a ringtone. I read somewhere that said something about having to add a registry key to get custom alarms and whatnot

No....You don't have to mess with the registry....Load the .wav files into the Windows folder in the Device not the Storage Card, not the Rings folder. It should works....Try a soft reset too.
