Here is an active link to the PN 820. Evidently utstar moved it.

A link at Verizon Wireless PN-820 Maintenance Release - Verizon Wireless Support down in the text some leads now to PDC, but if you search for the PN820 on that site, you can find the maintenance release at this page:

Personal Communications Devices

FYI, Verizon is still selling this phone (at least as of a few months ago); $100 for a PDA/'smart' phone seemed like a good deal at the time...

Good luck!

Can anyone comment on the battery life for the OEM battery, after the upgrade? One of my employees has this phone and that is her biggest complaint.... really her only complaint as shes doesnt use BT. In leu of replacing the phone right away, I planned on trying the update. Just wondering what the results were from other people.

Thanks.

I'm not using this phone right now, but I went ahead and installed the upgrade last night after reading this thread. I can't tell you how much it bugged me that you previously couldn't change the picture on the front LCD!
You had a choice of "V Cast", which the phone doesn't even have, a Verizon logo which simply translated to a couple pinkish stripes on the small screen, an ugly picture of a bunch of people squished together, a nice red-orange sunset, which never matches your homescreen, and the tropical picture which is old already cuz you've been using it for 6 months!!
The first thing I did was take a picture pointed toward the floor with the lights out, and drop it in the pics folder so I can have a nice black front LCD.
This alone was worth the update!
