HELP - I Need Tungsten GPRS Settings For Orange UK Network
Help - Tungsten W Orange GPRS Settings

I have just bought a Tungsten W from Carphone Wharehouse here in the UK. I was using the SPV Orange Smartphone with GPRS and I wanted to try the palm T. Anyway I inserted my sym card in the Tungsten W and the phone part is working. I can recieve and can make calls plus recieve sms messages.

My problem is that I have tried various procedures to program the Tungsten W for GPRS internet. So far I have had no luck with it.

I called orange and I talked to a second 156 tech. he sent me the instructions on the programing but I still have had no luck. I have enclosed them below my msg. Also with the other info he gave to me. I entered the information but still no luck

Can anyone please give me the right settings to set-up my Tungsten W on Orange, or any suggestions of what I am doing wrong and how I can fix this problem. Also if there is anything else I need to change on the Tungsten to make it work on Orange UK Network

Creating a GPRS Internet connection on the Palm Tungsten W


1. From the Home screen tap on Prefs

2. From the drop down menu in the top right hand corner of the screen
select Mobile


3. Ensure that the Mobile is set to On

4. From the drop down menu in the top right hand corner of the screen
select Connection


5. Tap New


6. Enter a name for the connection

Orange GPRS

7. Set the Connect to option to GPRS

8. Tap Details


9. Enter the Access Point Name (APN) as specified by your network operator

10.The rest of the settings should not need to be changed unless specifically required by your service provider

11.Tap OK

12.Tap OK again

13.From the drop down menu in the top right hand corner of the screen select Network

14.Enter a name for the connection

15.Enter your user name and password information

Orange says NO USER NAME OR PASSWORD IS USED!

16.Ensure that the connection you created earlier is selected

17.To initiate the connection tap Connect
