It seems like with a device that's this different from a historically major player in the smartphone market, that there would have been more activity on this site???
Usually with a phone that has the advance press and hype that this has, we would have seen a forum started by now.
But maybe the better plan is to wait and see what it really is before starting a new forum???
They started the iPhone forum before the iPhone was released. I am surprised that there is not a dedicated forum. There are a lot of forums on the net specific to the Pre. I'm sure they will welcome us if this website decides against it.
I am planning on getting the Pre on day 1. It won't be as good of a device as the iPhone is today. I think it will be better than the iPhone was on it's first day. The gamble is to see if app developers dive in. I think open source and running multiple apps will be pretty attractive. I'm tired of Apple spoon feeding me features that they have been holding back on.
I think that the Pre is a very logical next move for me. I've tried the screen based keyboards, and they just don't work with my fingers. I would have loved to make that switch, but it just didn't work.
I have about 6 months left on my Verizon contract, which might be just the right amount of time for pre bugs to be worked out.
Then the choice will be to go to Sprint, who will not hamper the phone, or stay with Verizon, who has a long history of crippling their phones to match their network.
I agree with the comment,"I'm tired of Apple spoon feeding me features that they have been holding back on.". This approach is sooo tiring.
