Samsung raising the bar for Palm OS based pdaPhones

After having some success with the SPH-i300, Samsung has introduced a new CDMA pdaPhone, the SPH-i330. Among other things, it supports CDMA2000 1xRTT networks, allowing for data transfer speeds of up to 144 Kbps where the i300 only supported standard CDMA data calls with speeds of up to 14.4 Kbps.

The i330 also has a 66Mhz Dragonball processor, 16M of memory, and nice options including a camera, hands free kit, and car kit.

Check out this video sneak peek of the I330 at Comdex - Treo Central I-330 Comdex Video

No keyboard is a big minus

I really like this phone from Samsung but I just dont see how you would get the benefit of the fast data without a keyboard. Perhaps you have to consider it a modem for your laptop. You can get your email fast on the i330 but how do you reply efficiently or work on word documents and then mail them off.

PS My Treo 300 is already acting as a remote modem for PCs and Macs using the WirelessModem software from Scott Gruby at www.notifymail.com.

According to phonescoop, it looks like Sprint PCS will be the first ot have it, and depending on the deal they have with Samsung, Verizon will probably pick it up later.
