And wouldn't you know it, as I was playing around with the 7135's that we got in stock, I discovered that they are in fact loaded with the Verizon PRL after all! So the post I made several days ago was actually correct!

No, it is not available at my zipcode. Only some people are allowed to order without lying.
I would need to pay the $50 inflated price ($699) and lie about my location when ordering the phone (no contract). Or, lie about my location and try to signup for service in another area for $650 with mail in $100 rebate, and hope after signing up for my service I can transfer my existing phone number to 7135, which is surely not a hassle if I do it all through verizon but with a middle person who is signing up for new contract, I dont know what will happen. I have an email into Verizon asking how I can order from getconnected (forget about I cant order it without lying in my area) _with_ new contract, and safely get it in place of my existing contract. I bet lying about my location gives me alot of legal standing when I try to cash the rebate and they refuse, also.
This is more of a _next month Verizon will offer this phone to business contract people_. Not an official announcement it is available to everyone on Verizon today.

Kyo said it was a glitch in their system that some zips aren't working. For example... my home address wouldn't work with Getconnected, my billing zip, which is 10 miles away, worked. (they'll only ship to billing, but at the time I didn't kinow that)
Keep complaining...

Uhm, yea. Maybe, but... Most of the information we are given by Kyo or the carriers about the release of this phone is misleading or totally incorrect.
Just setting things straight, regarding someone giving false information.

I followed the link. I dont see any link for Kyocera 7135. I enter my zip code (43065) and press Go. It lists two featured phones, Motorola V60i and Ericsson T68i both on AT&T Wireless. Above that, under By Carrier, Verizon is not listed. Also up there, under By Manufacturer, Kyocera is not listed. Under By Manufacturer, I click View all phones, and in the list of about 35 phones, the Kyocera 7135 is _not_ listed.
The fact still stands, this phone is not being offered in some areas.

Bought the phone and opps, sorry, getconnected.com doesn't support any service for the Kyrocera 7135. Smoke rises. I told the bastard, I entered my ZIP code and the phone came up supported? The salesman replied "The information was supplied in error by Verizon, but no problem." "Lots of people ordering phone from us and activating locally at Verizon Retail store... not reseller but retail store. We are one of the only distributors carrying the phone." I called my local Verizon Retail store and the customer service person said "no problem"... even though we don't sell them yet, they are bug free now and we can have you up and going in no time. So I lost my $100 rebate ending 3/31/03 since I had to buy without service, but I still got the phone and the service. An extra hoop to jump through, but if you have to have the best technology, it is worth it.

What does that mean getconnected doesn't support service? Did you buy it with a plan thru GC on Verizon? Your post isn't clear...

I bought the phone through getconnected.com with loss of rebate and then the local Verizon Retail store sold me the plan separately and activated the phone.

Hmm. I called getconnected.com and sent emails to Verizon. Everything says there is no way to get the phone at discounted "with plan" price and keep your existing phone number, even if your existing contract is month-to-month, the new plan cant be considered an upgrade for you.
I even asked if I sign up for a new plan, then cancel within my 7 day no fee cancellation window, they said they would charge the $50 price difference to my account and I'd no longer be eligible for the $100 rebate, making it as though I originally purchased the phone with no plan.
I'm wondering if its worth the risk. Order the phone with new plan, but link it to my existing account (you can do this on the checkout process). Then swap which of my two verizon phones has which phone number. Then cancel my old-phone new-number. But what I've been told it sounds like each phone number is linked with each contract.
Guess I need to wait on Verizon longer...
edit, ps: but it is finally available from getconnected.com in my zip code!
