Changing unit names

If I change a units name in the desktop will it change the units name on the palm?

If I have it installed on 2 machines should I rename that name BEFORE I sync again assuming it works?

I have used a program named "Changename" to accomplish this task.

If the upload worked for me........the zip file is attached for that program.
