How do I move the data from the i500 to the Centro?

I accept the fact that the Centro will not recognize some older programs. It appears that when this occurs the programs are moved to a file for Old Apps or Non Compatible Apps.

That being said, how do I transfer those that will work to the new phone along with the data?

The install CD will do it for you if you follow the directions carefully.

I tried to follow the CD and it did not select any programs that I had on the i500 or the data.

The only choice as I remember is to install new or into the old with omission of programs that would not work on the Centro.

If those programs do not work on the Centro, is there any way to transfer the data to the standard stuff....calendar, phone list, etc.?

Those data (phonebook etc.) ought to have been transferred if you used the same device name. They were on mine.

The standard stuff like contacts, calendar, memos, etc. can simply be copied and pasted in Palm desktop from your i500's profile to your centro's profile.

The programs from your old profile are saved in a file called "backup"
By default it is in the folder:
C:\Program Files\Palm\profile
where "profile" is the actual name of the hotsync profile.
Just click on the PRC's of the programs that you want to transfer and quick install them to the centro's profile...

Looks like everything is in ...\Backup, but it also put my third party stuff in C:\Program Files\Palm\username\Old Apps or ...\PalmOS5 Incompatible Apps.

FYI, some of the programs it put in Incompatible Apps work fine.
