Is Graffiti Dead?

Have used Palm things for years and Graffiti is just a way of life for me. Been looking to upgrade my i500 to a Centro but have heard that Graffiti has been phased out. So before I jump ship and get a Touch, can someone please confirm this Graffiti issue. Thanx...

There are numerous third party graffiti solutions.
I felt the same way when I migrated from the i5 to treoland, but quickly realized that the thumbpad does the job much more efficiently!

Onscreen keyboard

Last Smartphone was the i500 and had several Palm based units prior to it.

Hated Graffiti…………..never had the patients to learn it when Jot was easier to use and learn. In addition to using Jot, also used an onscreen keyboard called FatFingers.

Now that I have a Centro, and find that using the “tiny keys” are not for me, I needed to find alternatives.

Jot still works but FatFingers does not.

At the prompt, the flashing line, I now can either use Jot onscreen or, what my newest preference is to use, Mini-Keyboard which is an online replacement for FatFingers. It activates after the prompt by selecting the right side of the 5-way.

It appears that the smartphones (treos and centro) are the only Palm devices that have discontinued the use of graffiti. The regular PDAs (e2, z22 and the tungsten TX) still use it.

i too upgraded from an i500 to a Centro. I loved the i500's simplicity and size. But I finally wanted something more modern.

Going without graffiti is a bit odd. I've been using graffiti since the PalmIII (before many of you were born

the microscopic buttons on the centro were a real turnoff at first. But I decided to give it a go anyway and bought it. I'm getting better, and I find my accuracy higher because there are none of those common graffiti misinterpretations. I have big hands, and I still manage to use it pretty effectively. The odd thing is that you still need a stylus to interact with the screen. many of the icons are just too small / close to the edge to be able to touch accurately. So you now have a stylus but not for writing! It's kinda weird.
