Centro Case

so i just picked up a centro today at a best buy, and of course i needed to get a case that the phone would fit well in. i was afraid that the treo cases would be a little large, and also very expensive (for the official Palm ones). most of the generic cases didnt suit my needs either as they were either too small, too cheap, or just dumb looking.

so after a little searching through the offerings at best buy i came accross a great off the shelf choice for the centro -- the official samsung blackjack leather case. it's magnetic, top loading and made of black leather. it's also cheap, at 19.99. the only downside, and its really not much of one, is that it says blackjack on the case.

so far it fits the centro snugly, but not too snug to require effort to put it in, and it doesnt press any buttons. seems to be the best choice off the shelf, until they make accessories specifically for the centro.

Sweet!!! I forgot about the flexicases! I have one for my Gigabeat and its pretty nice. Will definitely have to get one for the wife's Centro since she tends to bounce her phones off of the pavement quite often.

I would get a flexicase but I remember when I had one of those on my ipod. The dust build up is just rediculous and it left small stains on the edges of my ipod. I don't think I'll be getting that one again.

i had a feeling about dust...they also like to stick to everything and make it impossible to put in your pocket, right?

I have the clear hard plastic case from the sprint store. It set me back about $20. It's ok, but the whole dust thing is a problem. You can really see it under the case. Other than that it's an alright case... comes with a pretty sturdy belt clip .. but it doesnt protect the screen, buttons, or keyboard. I just ordered the skin from boxwave, and when that comes in I'll post up a review...

just got the boxwave case in the mail. First impressions are that the case is a little loose fitting. I guess it kind of has to be to be able to get your phone in there, but...
Also the material the skin is made from is somewhat slippery other than where the raised parts of the skin are.
The two bonuses are that a belt clip was included in my package, and there was supposed to be an extra charge for that. The other thing is that the navigation buttons are covered by the skin, adding a little more protection.
The clip is not as nice as the clear case though. The one on the clear case holds the phone in what ever position you put the phone in- 90 deg from the ground or 45deg or whatever. the clip that came with the boxwave skin just lets the phone hang and swing freely... I'll give another update in a week or so after some wear and tear..

I got the Seido Hybrid Case, nice tight fit and does the job. About 30 bucks on their website.

I too got the clear plastic case from the sprint store. Yeah, it does gather some dust (looks worse on my black centro than on my wife's red one) but fo $20 I think it does a good job. Extra bonus is that the device feels much more solid in the case and the battery door squeaks, creaks and snaps are non-existent when the phone is in the case!
