Go from i550 to Centro?

There isn't a lot of talk relatively speaking on Centro from what I can see....considering there was more talk about i550 that never came out versus a phone that is out there right now!

Does that mean not a lot are into it? I THINK I want to make the move from my i550 (I LOVE it, but I want to be able to text easier...you can text on the i550, but it's kinda a pain)...to the Centro..., but if anyone can tell me their hesitations or if they are having problems, or if it's just too big, then please share. Not that my i550 is small by any means, but I do know i'm going to miss the flip phone form. Can I still put it in my pocket? That's all I'm really scared of.

Also...I saw that someone asked about Datebook6....does anyone know for sure that it works on Centro?

One last question (for now) ...has anyone successfully been able to use it as a modem for their laptop b/c I don't want to lose that feature, and I know it's something I can't ask Sprint about (they don't want us using it that way from what I've heard since they want us to buy a card and another plan). I don't use it a lot, but sometimes when i'm in a jam and need to get on my laptop but am not at home.

Thanks everyone...and if all goes well and I like the centro, I should have an i550 on eBay soon . It is super cool and I've loved every minute with it, but texting is somewhat of a pain and I love getting new phones. But........i'm not parting with it until I'm sure I love the centro!

There is plenty of message traffic on the Centro in other forums. Try Treonauts, MyTreo.net, Treocentral, etc. Also, the sprint users forum has lots of traffic. Personally, I have stuck around this forum because I always found folks here to be a little more sophisticated and not asking questions that can be found in the FAQ or manual. Not sure why Centro owners don't post here except maybe they don't know about the forum.

As far as they phone goes, I had an I500 and it was a better phone (form factor and overall phone usage). The Centro is a better PDA and EVDO is nice. As is the MicrosSD expansion. I would check some other forums for more opinions.

I'm lovin the centro right now, but i really miss the flip phone style....definitely not used to having the mic so far from my mouth, but I'll get used to it. My i550 will be on eBay soon...i'll give you a heads up as to when.

of course the i500/550 had more play here. There wasn't a dedicated site towards it. Everyone was here. There are a few dedicated treo sites where it gets much more play and hype.

I miss the form factor and size, but that's about it. The Centro does everything else better. I don't even miss graffiti anymore. It's much easier to type on the keyboard while driving...haha.
