I currently have a Dell Axim X5 (which I think is a great PDA), and would like to upgrade it to a newer model such as the X51v. I would also like to get rid of my cell phone and go to a combined device. Unfortunately, I can't find any information on whether the X51v can do that. Does anyone know what needs to be done to enable the Axim X51v to be used as a smart phone (i.e., get a GSM Card)?

I don't think it can be done today unless there is a GSM/GPRS Compact Flash card that will work for the OS on the X51v. Even if there is one, I'm not sure it would work as well as you would like, since the typical Pocket PC phone has issues that wouldn't be made easier in a hybrid scheme.

Your best bet would be to find a Pocket PC phone that works as it is designed to out of the box and not try to add a module to an existing non-cell Pocket PC.
