Moto Q

From the CNET via NY Times today:

Is there any word on this? An existing forum, perhaps?

I'm trying to figure out if this is a PDA phone or just a phone w/ email capabilities ...

I mean, it runs Windows Mobile 5 but does it have the full capabilities of a full PDA phone, say, a Siemens SX66?

There's not much info around, and it won't be available until Q1 06 anyway, so I guess we'll hear more as time goes on.

This should have it's own forum, and I'm sure it soon will.

This is a full PDA phone running 05' win mobile. They're touting it as a treo beater especially with the Treo 700W on the horizon. They are supposedly rushing this to the market so they can beat the Treo 700W. Looks pretty sweet and is about half as thick as the Treo. The only thing I see in it I don't like is the mini-SD slot. So much for popping cards from my camera or mp3 on the fly. That's actually a huge negative, but what can you do.

Quick feature breakdown:
• One of the first devices to run on Microsoft Windows Mobile 5.0; Optimized for Microsoft Exchange 2003 and a variety of third party email solutions that enable a broad set of corporate email capabilities*
• Thinnest QWERTY device in the world – 11.5mm
• Full, ergonomic QWERTY keyboard, 5-way navigation button and thumb wheel
• Video clip capture and playback
• Connectivity via Bluetooth, IrDA and mini-USB; compatible with Motorola's line of Bluetooth-enabled wireless headsets
• Multi-Media Messaging (MMS)
• Dual, stereo-quality speakers
• Audio formats supported: iMelody, MIDI, MP3, AAC, WAV, WMA, WAX, QCELP
• Image formats supported: GIF87a, GIF89a, JPEG, WBMP, BMP, PNG
• Video formats supported: H.263, MPEG-4, GSM-AMR, AAC, WMV
• Mini-SD removable memory card slot
• Large, high-resolution display (320 x 240 pixels, 65K TFT)
• 1.3 mega pixel camera with photo lighting
• PIM functionality with Picture Caller ID
• Advanced speech recognition and speakerphone
