Nokia has announced a new Communicator to be available 1st qtr of 2005. It appears that it is a 9500 without the WiFi and camera. Here's the news release from Nokia.

I want the WiFi....NOW.

The 9300 is said to be 80% of the 9500's size, so it is slightly smaller. Also, it has an MMC slot. Do you know of any WiFi MMC cards? Or maybe MMC to SD adaptors or something....

If you want the WiFi, then get the 9500. I saw both and the size difference didn't amount to much. They're both going to make the same bulge in your pocket.

I don't bother with the camera since it only takes VGA shots. I purchased the 9500 mainly for the WiFi and Bluetooth and I'm very happy with it. I'm not aware of any MMC WiFi cards. If the MMC slot is the same location as the one in the 9500, you wouldn't be able to use it anyways since you won't be able to close the case.

Sorry, but the MMC card is inside the battery door, and no protruding device could work in that slot.

Nokia chose MMC instead of SD, and MMC excludes SDIO capabilities. So, no WiFi for this device; if you want WiFi, get the 9500.

It's markedly slower than my Treo650, but has only crashed once in the past 3 weeks (which my Treo does at least 3x weekly). I am very glad to have it.
