Thumbs up 6630 set to be the best yet

I've been searching for a fully functional 3G handset for some time to use as a Bluetooth modem for my notebook. Until now, all phones specifying 3G support only access the streaming media capabilities of the service. The 6630 has finally made the jump to full 3G EGPRS/EDGE data connectivity providing a spanking 236.8kbps download and 118.4kbps upload. Now it's possible to surf the web at speed without access to a WLAN hotspot! I've got mine pre-ordered and will supply a full review once I've had time to play. Release dates vary, but I should get my sweaty hands on my 6630 before Xmas (hopefully) and look forward to giving you full and frank lowdown on it's functionality and any first release bugs I'm almost certain to find.

Best place to buy

If anyone else is interested in buying a sim-free 6630, don't go to Expansys who will charge £530. I had a look around and found the same unit, in stock, at only £410 on Direct Mobile Accessories. Needless to say I've placed my order and expect delivery by Wednesday. My review will appear on this thread some time in the next two weeks, after I've had time to play and evaluate the EGPRS performance.

Unhappy Found a bug!

As expected with the first release of this handset in the UK, there is a bug in the works. I've been using the 6630 for just under 2 weeks and in that time the MMC card has lost connection 8 times. To correct the fault the card must be re-seated which causes the phone to close all active apps. Has anyone else experienced this problem?
