Headphone Jack for Mpx220

FYI, Cingular is now selling a headphone jack male 2.5mm to female 3.5mm for the Moto Rokr phone which is perfect for the MPX220. Typical male 2.5mm jacks have two rings, i.e. three contacts on the jack. These jacks will work on the MPX220, but you have to play with them to get them to work which can be annoying.

The jack Cingular is now selling for the ROKR E1 has the proper three rings, or 4 contact points for the MPX220. I'm using them with some sony headphones and they sound great. Perfect stereo sound without having to play with the jack.

The local Cingular store sold the Headset Adapter for about $5.

p.s., I'm guessing Cingular doesn't market the MPX220 as an MP3 player because they don't want to detract from the device's business image. But they should list the MPX220 as being compatible with their Headset Adapter. I blame it on the marketing people...

But it Sux!

I got that headset (the one that looks like a silvery iPod headset, but with the 3 rings, 2.5mm and mike). It's okay for phone use, but it absolutely sucks for listening to music. Even though the Motorola version is larger, hurts my ears and lets more ambient noise in, it is FAR and AWAY better than this POS.
