Yahoo IM

Well according to Yahoo! Mobile, one can:

Send IMs as text messages from your PC to your friends' mobile phones
Sign into Yahoo! Messenger from your mobile phone and send IMs to your friends when you're away from your PC

Got to
http://mobile.yahoo.com/services?prop=messenger

Which provider do you use will determine if Yahoo IM can be used. I have Cingular and an MPx220. And I also have Cingular MEdia Net, which I think is necessary for Yahoo IM to function.

The Cingular MPx220 also carried MSN Messenger - can you use that or are mor eof your friends AIM and YahooIM?

Have you looked at Pocket MSN? $19.95 once only fee and you can not only access MSN messenger but a host of other mobile features ... I use MSN messenger now.

Interestingly, YahooIM will shortly allow yahoo! Messenger to IM friends on MSN Messenger ...

Thumbs up Thank you !

Thank you very much for all of the great info.

I do have Cingular and Media Net.

I prefer Yahoo and AIM if possible (my kids are on AIM) - that's why I asked.

Once again thanks !

AIm and Yahoo!IM

I'm with Cingular as well.

Log into your Cingular account (you can check your account online) and then check the sidebar - see Instant Messaging.
All you need to know and how to do it ... and Cingular also offer the ability to retrieve your home e-mail ... no doubt there is a cost to for that;

Have fun

Make sure also that you have Media Works in your plan (Cingular) or you will regret it when you see a high bill
