i know this is a lame question, but my external LCD is always "lit up". I imagine this drain the battery quite a bit. is there a way to have it eventually turn off.... so that only when i open the phone it turns back on? or does it always have to be on all the time

I would love to have that problem. I wish my MPx220 external LCD would always stay on. It is supposed to stay on for a couple of seconds then go off. Sorry but I don't have a solution for you, maybe if someone has a solution for this then I can get mine to stay on.

I believe that there is only one backlight that serves both the internal and external LCD's.

So when the external LCD is ON, the internal LCD is also ON.

So you really do not want the LCD to turn ON all the time as it will definitely drain your battery fast.

I believe that the mpx200 has two backlight one for each LCD's and so you can leave the external LCD ON all the time.
