check this out from Moto on upgrade

http://promo.motorola.com/mpx220/index.html

This is strange...

When I registered two weeks ago, I was not asked for my IMEI.

This time, it is asking for the IMEI already. The only problem is that this time, it is not accepting me.

Here is the error message:
Error: You are not a member of the preregistrants group.

But the first time I registered, it accepted my entry with no error but it did not ask me for the IMEI.

Oh well..

You guys should try yours..

It took mine, once I removed the dashes from the IMEI. Maybe you got a bootleg phone.

don't use the dashes and make sure you use the email address you used when you "first" signed up for notifiction (of the new ROM) from Moto's site. it worked for me after i changed my email address. (the email address is the only thing i changed after it initially didn't accept my entry.)

arghhhhhh!@#@%$@#

This is making me mad... so mad...

hehehe...

Now I wonder if this will only work for phones bought from Cingular directly??

No mine is not a bootleg.. I got it from one of the internet dealers....

I tried several combinations of what you guys suggested i.e., no dash numbers (there's none anyway) tried different email address (got only one) hehehe...

Oh well...

waaaaaaaaaaaaa

This is what I get for trashing Cingular..

hmmmm... Now I wonder (again) if I should get in touch with Cingular and register my IMEI with them first huh??? What you guys think?

Or maybe i'll log on to my account in the CIngular site..

ill do that now....

No dashes seems strange. How did you get the IMEI?
Try dialing: *#06# on the phone.

Mine is in the format: 123456-12-123456-1
