Ya know, normally I'm pretty resourceful and can figure out most gadget issues, but trying to figure out games on this thing is pi$$ing me off. I got my phone thru Cingular, and I've got almost all my issues and questions resolved, mostly with help from the informative tips on this forum (thanx to all). Now to the point. I tried going to the cingular website to check out some games, but the navigation on their site is FU-k!N RETARDED! I cant seem to get to a legitimate listing of exactly which games are compatible with this exact phone. (220) It isnt even listed. I keep getting a redirect to the damn graphics and ringtones page. I tried going to the net site from the phone, and that didnt work either- It said 'Currently this feature is unavailable'. I've aquired quite a few game files in jad format for various other phone types (Nokia Samsung) Will these work on the motorola phone? Does anyone know where I might obtain an accurate list of MPX-220 compatible games? ANY info would be appreciated, and maybe I could provide something useful in return...
Thanx for takin the time to read my horribly long post...

both types, I'm not sure what type the ones on the cingular site are...I was on there lookin at them again this morning but still cant find any answers. One of my friends sent me a .jar and .jad file for a game but from what I'm reading on other places on the net, the .jar games only install if they are downloaded from a website on the phone... I still havent figured anything out. I was trying a little bit ago to get in my email from my phone to see if I could dl it from in there but for some reason I cant connect, keep getting 'unable to connect, check if you have network coverage and try again' grrrrrrrrrrr!! I was just on my mobile messenger a couple days ago, so I dont know whats goin on. I have messed with the settings in the phone a little, trying to get the modem feature to work for my laptop, so maybe I screwed somethin up I dont know. I'm about to just do a damn reset on the thing and start over from scratch.

The last I recall the java games link from Cingular was not working so I never bothered. As for other games you can purchase or get free downloads at smartphones.net, handango etc and search by WMSP 2003 devices. Just about any have worked for me.
man, I still never figured it out........I have 2 or three games that are in the jar format, and I read/heard a rumor that they will work on the mpx 220 but that they had to be downloaded into the phone via explorer to install. So i tried sticking one on a file hosting site and getting to it from the internet on the phone. Didnt work- I could see the download file tab but when i clicked on it all i got was a 404 forbidden error page that said i couldnt download it. So then I tried putting it in my email, but when i access my hotmail from my phone I see no option for downloading attatchments, so I just f**kin gave up on the sh!t altogether, good luck to you, if you figure anything out holler back, cuz all my experiments failed.

Actually, not all games made for smartphones specifically DO NOT work for the mpx220...
Some sites ive been to that has games and apps for smartphones NOW indicate which smartphones they are compatible with.. I don't even bother to dl anything if it does not list the mpx220....
By the way, you got your mpx220 from Cingular right? Is it LOCKED?? Or Unlocked???

The only way (thus far) that I have been able to setup and run Java programs using the supplied software on the MPx220, is to use Pocket Internet Explorer on the MPx220 to download the JAD file from a web server (not the JAR file). PIE will automatically launch the JVM on the phone (Jeodek) to pull down the JAR file and set it up for use.
BTW, since the MPx220 is a smartphone, you can also run EXE programs (which are much better than Java) anyways. You might want to look at this site: http://www.airfagev.com/downloads.asp?cat=Games
