Changing the MPX 220 Faceplate

Hi,

Does anyone know how to get the front faceplate off the MPX220? I have a new one and can't seem to figure out how to get it off except for the top hinged piece. I can't get the bottom half off.

Thanks
Liz

Do you know (or dont - hehe) if it is due to the battery contacts that the phone turns itself off?

I noticed it sometimes when I flip it close the phone turns off???

Any ideas??

thanks

I saw this on ebay (for an MPx220 faceplate):
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...754851235&rd=1

Installation- Required T6 tool for installation, Instruction is not included. Unscrew (four screw ) the screw under the round pad around the LCD screen.

I have no clue how accurate this info is. Let us know how it goes for you. I'm thinking about getting a black faceplate for mine.

with most flip phones-- u can get faceplates--- but the phone is not designed to be changed--when changing the face of the phone u risk damaging the screen, some phones the speaker... it can vary pending on design, but all in all -- dont do it--- unless u have a motov180 for example (that is designed for interchangable faceplates)

I ordered a face plate for this phone. It definitely is not as complicated as changing a housing on an i730 since the faceplate just unscrews. It says it needs a t6, but its a t4. The particular faceplate I got, which was off of Ebay, sucked. When you looked through the camera lens on the new faceplate, it looked like a fisheye lens. Which obviously hindered the camera's already poor quality. Lesson learned. Was not worth it.

Yikes!!!!!!!!!!! Imagine how ugly my phone will look if I have a black faceplate and black battery cover and the rest is still silver.. YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!..

It'll look just llike my old jalopy where I have a different color bumber, a different color driver side door and a diferent rear passenger door color.

But the fact that the battery cover alone is black and the back is still silver, I will end up covering the phone up so that people won't beat me up in the streets when they see me with an UGLY looking mpx220..

hehehe..

So I will risk my life and have an UGLY looking black on silver on black phone that does not match at all...

YIKES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I was envisioning it looking like a Black Lincoln Towncar with Chrome trim to the max.
