Hi all,
This is a cross-post with Howard Forums, since I'm not sure how long it'll be to get any replies or resolution.
I am a US user of an MPx300 originating from France. I put my SIM card in and phone usage is fine, especially after pairing with a Motorola HT120 headset. I found that with proper settings, I can now text message with other cingular users (at least my husband anyway). My problem is with email (both MMS and pocket outlook) and Internet access side. I've been told that once I can attain internet connectivity, the email problem will resolve itself.
After extensive calls with cingular and cingular blue data expert phone representatives, as well as sales people who claim to be data specialists, I have it set up with the following settings:
Select a Modem: Cellular Line(GPRS)
Access Point Name: wap.cingular
User Name:
WAP@CINGULARGPRS.COM
Password: CINGULAR1
When I attempt to connect, I get the error message saying it "cannot connect for an unknown reason" an it suggests that I check the settings. I can't call motorola since the phone is not supported, no one there has the info.
After trying an amazing number of combinations and checking the settings after each one, I've come to the conclusion that the password is changing itself. The password above is 9 digits. When I check the password after an attempt, it has mysteriously grown to 16 digits. Even when I simply change the settings to the correct password, press finish, and then look at at it again, it has once again "grown." This is very frustrating, and since I've tried everything I've been told about as well as things I've found on the forums, I have to believe that it won't connect because it keeps switching to an incorrect password.
Can anyone corroborate this? or better yet, can anyone help me overcome it?
Thanks!
