Question Windows Moble Device Center and Motorola Updater

Ok, been reading all over the forums for this and cannot find anything on it, so going to ask.

I just recently downloaded the Motorola updater and Mobile device center (using Vista 32 bit). I want to update my Q but the motorola updater does not see that my device is connected, even though Mobile device center does. Cannot install Active Sync because I am on Vista, and Sync center is completely useless (would like to get rid of Sync center but...)

So what am I doing wrong? I can sync all my pics and whatnot through Mobile Device center, but the motorola updater does not see my Q and keeps telling me to plug it in.

oh, ignore my sig, just remembered that I forgot to update it when I went to the Q from the 6700.

Seems that I solved my own problem. Going to the phone and checking the 'Advanced functionality' box (the forbidden box as I always call it) worked. The mobile center and the motorola updater both saw the change, reloaded software and all is well now.

Hope this helps someone in the future.
