I've had to go back to my old reliable Kyocera 7135 I keep in stock just to have a phone.
the last 2 were just dead when I get to my desk in the morning. 1 was on the charger, the latest was not...and I've only had this new unit for 2 days.
I've gone through some reset steps with motorola, but they dont work.
Looks like Im going to have to go to a different unit (BB or Treo). I cant have my handheld so unreliable.
It amazes me how this happens to people - 2-3-4 bad handsets. I have had the same one I bought on January 16 and since I did the MOL update 2 weeks ago, it is running like a champ. Sorry you had to give up - don't blame you, but go with a BB. Much more stable!
Truely sorry you have had issues with your Q's. I have also had only one Q since I got mine last summer. I don't want to see you go, but all the best with your next phone.
I have a Moto Q Black with the latest ROM and absolutely love it. Opted to purchase it after selling my i730 and also in lieu of the i760 release. I highly recommend it. Very stable, thin, lightweight, bright clear picture, pretty good battery life, EXCELLENT functionality, just love it.
I have had 4 Q's in the last two weeks. The first crapped out on my way to the beach, and a refurb was ordered while down there. When I got home, the refurb couldn't charge a battery, so I was given a 3rd, just to charge, while still using the other and waiting on another return by mail model. This one locks up and freezes as well. What is up with motorola!? They used to make the best phones period. Now they just suck. Operations were much better when they were in the USA....
I have 6 Q's .. well ... my employees and I do ... and all of them work perfectly ... never a major issue ... I'm guessing you have a tiny dark cloud over your head as you've had some really bad luck with yours .. hang in there and you'll get one that works well ... and you'll love it ...

I had one that stopped working (in March, having had it since last summer), and the two successive refurbs sent afterward were also defective, so Verizon told me to go to any store and get a new one - you should insist they do this for you too. I got a new one in April (a black one instead of my old silver one) and it works OK.
I wonder if it's the refurbs some people are getting.
I'd demand a new unit for a replacement and see how that goes.
My wife has only had it a month and so far so good. I really like it and she likes it too.
If not for it's brain dead handling of BT headsets I'd probably prefer the Q over my Mogul (PPC 6800). It's really funny how Motorola headsets work BETTER on non motorola phones.
My original Q stopped working at the beginning of March last. I was sent two refurbs, both of which were defective. When I called Verizon with my complaints they allowed me to go to a retail store and get a new one (I got a black one in lieu of the original silver) and I'm still using it. You should insist on a new one - my understanding is that if Verizon sends you a replacement, it's a refurb.
