Hi, I am new to this forum but I have read many helpful things here so... thanks.


This is what I have gotten so far... My girlfriends Moto Q slipped into bootloader mode (the black screen o' death) when I plugged into my PC to config the mms/wap for cricKet. I started reading up on how to get out of this and really started to get worried. Everything leads to a new phone but its a VZW on cricKet so there is no replacing it for free.

Out of desperation, I went to moto to see if they had a solution. I got an update for the phone. I plugged into my pc and tried the update. WHAM! It worked! No more bootloader screen. It DID however completely reformat the phone. She lost everything in it and now I have to put it back on the cricket network. BAAAAAA!!!!!! Anyway, theres a fix for the black screen of death after all.
