I am on my 4th Q and going in for the 5th because it keeps locking up. Nomally it locks when asleep and will not wake up. Sometimes when dialing or in a call.
Verizon says that is it a common problem and that the new firmware was suppose to fix it. Motorola was nice and helped troubleshoot, but could not find anything unusual about my phone or usage.
So, off I go to Verizon for phone #5. But this is getting tiring, it takes a fair amount of work to setup the phone only to replace it the next day.
I am running no additional programs. It is a stock Q.
I hate to go to another phone, but I have not hope I will get a Q that works after 4!

Advice?

If you're running a stock Q, what, may I ask, takes a "fair amount of work to set-up"?
Backup the old device
Establish partnership
Sync the device (I have over 2000 records)
Set up the voicemail dialing to include password
Set up the phone to lock after 5 minutes
Set password on phone lock
Set the device to MST (Settings)
Set up Owner Information:
Set backlight to 30 seconds
Set display time out to 30 seconds
Set ringer to Old Telephone
Setup 11 Speed Dials
Setup Email for (3) POP3 Accounts
Pair Bluetooth Device.
Maybe this isnt a lot of work for you, but for me, having to do it every couple of days is getting pretty tedious.

Yeah, that is a lot of work, you're right. And I didn't mean to condescend. It's just that 4 phones is a lot and seems very odd.
Can I ask what program you are syncing with? That is, Outlook, or some other client?
Sprite is a great backup app. One thing I try to do is build my basic config of my settings without software loaded so I have a stock setup. Then I load my apps and create a full backup of that config. It can be helpful if you have along time app that suddenly has issues or you want to test out something new.
I have had 4 since Oct 16 , the latest problem was code 37 Cs tried every thing to get it to load a web page no luck they then started a ticket and then closed it the next day without calling me and said it was resolved ? I called CS the next morning they told me the ticket was closed,I was like wtf. I went back o the store they switched it out and bam it worked perfect. I headed back to work smiling ,until I went to sync up with outlook I noticed the screen was looking funny then all the sudden the phone shut off and would not turn back on .I then took it back they switched it out again, then the tech guy (he was cool) told me don't worry we have 6 more in stock.
1 st one work great for 3 weeks was freeing up missing calls 4 hard resets not fixed.
2 nd Data never worked code 37
3. died within one hour
4. still working 3 hours old lol
No 3rd party software at all loaded on these phones
In a word yes. Windows Mobile Smartphone and PocketPC both benefit from Sprite backup. Build your stock all settings in place config and install Sprite backup (or better yet install Sprite first and only Sprite) then back up. Keep that backup on your card and your desktop (cards do get corrupted). Ultimately its the only way to have these types of phones without smashing them to bits.
Well, I received my 5th Q and it works! I've gone 24 hours without a lockup.
My advice to those who get lockups, have Verizon replace the unit. It's not going to get better.
I did purchase the Sprite backup software and it worked pretty well except for the POP3 accounts, it does not restore them correctly and corrupts the data service settings so that you cannot use the internet or email. You must wipe the phone and start over.
