For those of you that prefer Voice Command on the Q, I have figured out how to get the hardware button assigned on the Q to open voice command instead of the dreaded voicesignal.
First install Voice Command
Download Total Commander from http://www.ghisler.com/smartphone.htm
(This is my favorite file manager and reg editor on the PPC, glad to see it on the Smartphone too.) You will need it as it allows you to replace files that are running or protected
Anyway, copy the file Voicecmd.exe to a temp location (I put it on my storage card) from \Program Files\Voice Command\
Rename the copied file to voicesignal.exe
Using Total Commander copy (or move) the newly named voicesignal.exe to the \windows directory. (You will need to manually type in the directory, in TC when I clicked on the tree view it came up blank.
now pushing down on the Voice Recognition button start Voice Command!!!!
Are there any issues with Total Commander on the Smartphone or with WM 5.0? Just asking because on the site you listed, it states that you can only use it on an unlocked phone?

YOU can't get there from here...but I can!
It installs fine, and seems to work pretty well. The only issue I have encountered is that when you go to copy a file or move a file, if you clikc on the tree button to choose the folder a blank screen comes up, you end up having to key in the path you want the file to go to.
and rename the VC exe to voicesignals and then place it in the Widndows folder- over writing the VS exe.
works like a champ!
Guys
Please help
Ok I guess I am a little slow. I understand you used resco explorer to move the file. But I do not know where to get the Voicecmd.exe . I am unable to download and install it into the Q smartphone.
If this is the only file that is nessecary, could you email it to me Zipped to stephen@baime.com.
If not please tell me how to install VC into the smartphone or tell me where to get Voicecmd.exe ,
I tried to download the trial version 1.5, but it would not install into a wm5 smartphone, only PPC.
1. install Voice Command from CD
2. Download Total Commander from http://www.ghisler.com/smartphone.htm or use Reco Explorer.
3. Copy the file Voicecmd.exe to a temp location from \Program Files\Voice Command\
4. Rename the copied file to voicesignal.exe
5. Using Total Commander or Resco Explorer copy (or move) the newly named voicesignal.exe to the \windows directory. Thiis will overwrite the voicesignal.exe program.
6. Now pushing down on the Voice Recognition (PacMan) button, Voice Command will start.
For the record, the Trial Version of Voice Command will not work on the Q. The install program will not allow you to install VC on a Smartphone and the CAB file will end unsuccessfully.
I do not know if the full download version will work. Has anyone with the D/L version installed it on their Q yet? I'm leary of spending $40 on something I can't try.

i have the full version and i have not been able to install it. i'm waiting for someone to explain how it is done. i've spent a couple hours on it so far!
I'm not making it up. How do I make a screen shot (what application makes screen shots of the Q? This way I can prove to you it is working.
Resco's Picture Viewer software comes with a Screen Capture utility that runs out of a separate menu item called Screen Capture. Try the trial version if it would help.

I read somewhere that the OEM version of Voice Command would work on SmartPhones, but the retail vesion does not. Perhaps he has a CD of that version. I wonder how you can get it...
