I'm new to the Q, this thread confuses me. I had an i700 and had to buy VC. On the Q, it automatically configured to voice dial with my BT 250.

Am I missing something? Why would someone need to install VC?

A few reasons. It's not readily available so to find it is a "score." Some of us want to load as much stuff and play with it as possible. And, most important, VC is far superior to the software the comes pre-installed on the Q. The current version of VC, however, has some limitations -- mainly that, when using your BT headset, it won't wake up the phone to dial the number. You've gotta press a button on the phone to wake it up first. Other than that, it's as good as ever.
