Since the Q is the first SmartPhone device with a landscape screen, I thought it would be a good idea to start a thread for posting apps that work, do not work, or work but require changes or special settings to make work. I am seeing some beginning to scatter around the forum so if we could consolidate and post them here it would be greatly appreciated.
I'll kick off with Resco Explorer. I installed last night and it works like a champ.
CoPilot Live 6
I just ordered the copilot 6 for moto Q and it will be avaliable for shipping on June 12th. I liked this program on my Samsung i-730 and hope it will work as good on the Q. Will update with details.
Anyone tried TCPMP or Opera? Very curious to know if either work properly.

However I'm still trying to find a HomeScreen Editor I like. Migrating to Smartphone technology from PPC takes a bit of getting used too. However as the phone need came first- I love this device!
Rob -- anything you had to do for Resco Pic Viewer to show the landscape orientation?
There is a setting under the Action softkey > Rotate > called Auto Landscape. I have not really spent much time testing it...but it appears to work. You can also force it to Landscape as well.

Productivity software for Smartphones
Streets & Trips 2006 for Smartphone seems to be working fine. Upon installation, it gave a warning that the software might not work because it was designed for an earlier version, but it appears to be running without problems.
I was able to use the same maps I had created for my 6700 (actually just left them on the 1 Gb card I moved from the 6700 to the Q). When I opened the maps, they were fine.
MS generally releases the next Streets & Trips each year in late summer, so it may be best to wait if you don't already have 2006. The 2006 version included all three versions (PC, Windows Mobile, and Smartphone) for about $29 -- one of the truly great software bargains out there.
PDANet works well on the Q thereby eliminating the need for a bluetooth dun to use the Q as a modem through USB. And Z4Soft PTAB Spreadsheet works excellent. It allows you view and edit excel spreadsheets.
I'm using:
Facade
Fizz Weather
Agile
Kevtris
Opera
Resco Registry/Explorer
They all seem to work fine. Facade is alright for now, but I'm hoping others will make better programs that do the same thing.
Programs that didn't work so well:
Battery Pack Pro (it works, but you can't change the icons on your home screen; uninstalling was strange, since I can't delete the icon under my start menu)
Right Menu (works since links show up on the right soft key, but it won't let me customize it. I would also rather have it on the left soft key)
