USB Device Unrecognized

This issue just started! All of a sudden when I plug my Motorola Black Q into my USB ports Windows is telling me that the device is unrecognized.

I am getting this on multiple PC's. My main computer I have Active Sync running while my laptop I have simply installed the drivers as I use the phone for tethering. Now that it is not recognized it will not charge or sync. (Luckily I have an Exchange account - But need my SmartPhones Notes to sync as they only go via ActiveSync.

The only change I made was purchasing an OEM Desktop charger, which worked great initially via USB. I have tried the phone with and without the OEM charger, but still getting the error message.

Any ideas?

I suppose Saturday's are slow around here!

Well, I used a can of air and blew out my port. Now it seems to be working. Not sure if it would have worked before that.

Keep everyone posted.

Sorry...I was out Saturday.

Good to hear you got it working. I haven't heard of dust stopping a USB connection like that...but if it got it working...that is the main thing.

Broken again! I just tried to plug in my phone to my laptop in order to charge it and I am getting the USB Device Not Recognized.

I had the standard battery plugged in and I change to the Extended, but it did not make any change.

I have rebooted (since I have changed batteries). Any ideas?

I wanted to make a suggestion to check, but I suspect you have already checked it.

Under Start>Accessories>Modem Link, check to make sure you are set for the mode you want to be in. You mentioned your laptop is used from teathering, which means you want to be in the Active mode, and your desktop you would want to be in the Inactive mode.

Also, another thing to check is Start>Settings>Connections. Many people have mentioned by toggling the Enable advanced network functionality check mark, they are able to restore connections to Active Sync.

I know this is frustrating.
