Yay!!!
I was very excited about this and just got my Q9C in today. I'm happy to report the same success. It was so easy too.. Just downloaded google maps and go to menu then click on GPS.
Yeah I dl google maps today and everything worked fine, but it wasn't until I read this that I figured out the gps was turned off. Thought I had it on, oh well. I'm gonna hook up my wireless today to see if I can access it w/my phone and check out the gps part.
I pretty much have no luck using this program with the Q9m, any reason why?
edit: Well at least I can use the directions part of the program. After reading some past threads, I guess the GPS or "My Location" functions of Google Maps doesn't work with the Q9m.

As long as part of it works
The 9m from Verizon has no GPS chipset in it.
And as we are all finding out the Verizon 9c which does have the GPS hardware has been locked out by our favorite harware cops at verizon. Any hacks for the Verizon 9c anybody????????
Verizon specifically mentions VZ Navigator support for Q9c, and VZ Navigator works very well. That is, Q9c internal GPS is very very very securely locked to VZN. Certain low-level DLLs have been replaced with proprietary ones. Hack attempts have actually succeeded as far as phone apps being able to talk to the chipset, but unable to find any satellites. I suspect that VZ location servers that provide the 'a' in 'aGPS' specifically make a check for VZN subscription, and standalone mode is locked out.
So what are the options? Either buy the $10/mo VZN subscription or get a bluetooth GPS. I have a GlobalSAT BT-359, works like a charm with either WL or GM.
I have used several GPS systems...and now use VZ Navigator exclusively. I have found that it finds roads that others don't. For the money, it is well worth it.
