Excel application?

I recently picked up the HTC Imagio and am now considering replacing it with the Motorola Droid. I was wondering if there was an Excel application or similar spreadsheet app on the Droid? Not a deal breaker....just curious. It appears (in the videos that I've seen) that the interface on this thing blows the TF3D on WinMo 6.5 away!

Only MS Office app is Documents to Go. Free to read, but $30 to edit.

You can however use Google Docs and Google Spreadsheet from the web browser.

Thank you Alan. I just read your review....thanks....it was a very good review.

In your review, you mention different demographics for different smartphones. The imagio was my first smartphone and I'd put myself more into the iPhone demographic although I have a solid computer background and had no problem figuring out the Imagio (I just get frustrated with the lags and the navigation issues). Would it be safe to say the the Droid would be a better device? The iPhone is pretty much out since I want to stay with VZW.

Thanks,
Joe

The Imagio is a great device, but I am just so amazed at the speed of the Droid that I can't see myself using Windows Mobile again unless the next version just does something truly amazing. You should at least go to a VZW store and play with one while you are still in your return period on the Imagio.

I did a search for Spreadsheet on the Android marketplace and it looks like there are several that will do spreadsheets that are compatible with Excel for a lot less money than Documents to Go. You would probably need to export from Microsoft to CSV for most of them to open, but then they can save in XLS for going back to Excel.

I went ahead and bought Docs to Go for the full compatibility.

Let me add, if you trade your imagio for a droid, you are "done" with your 30 day trial. if you return the IMagio and wait 3 days (activate your old phone in the mean time) you can then get the droid, you can get another 30 days.

Thanks for letting me know that.

I am really wanting to like the Droid and customize it to the things I need, but that is always in my back pocket. I didn't realize you had to return, then get again something else. Thanks for telling me and everyone else.
