BestBuy is offering pre-orders.

What is the advantage to buying it at BestBuy vs. a VZW store?

I called sales and they also said that it should be available to demo in stores when released on Nov 6th.

Some stores already have fully working demo phones on display.

They will have units available for sale on Friday November 6th. one more week to go!

supposedly bestbuy will be 199 without having to deal with a rebate. VZ stores will be 299 with a 100 rebate according to reports so far.

I went to my local BestBuy this evening and that's the story I got from the guy.

However, he seemed to not have a lot of info. I had to ask him about preordering and then he had to check with someone.

He did have a demo of the Droid, however. A non-working unit.

I was VERY unimpressed with the keyboard. I hope it was simply due to the fact that it was a demo unit.

Just got a review unit from VZW. Keyboard is not as nice as my HTC TouchPro, but works better than my i760 did. On-screen keyboard is good too, although I currently have a bandage on my thumb so I am getting a lot of typos with it.

Really strange coming from years of Windows Mobile and Palm to not use a stylus at all.
