Ditto for me. I'm currently an i760 user on Verizon. I've been waiting for the TouchPro 2 to become available once again, but the more I read about the Droid, the more impressed I become. I'm rather excited about experimenting with a whole new operating system. Let's hope Droid becomes available soon!
I'm an iPhoner and dropping it like a back ally used hanky for the Droid baby!

I just got a slightly pre-release (final software) Droid from Verizon marketing, and it is going to take something pretty special in Windows Mobile 7 to make me think of going back to a WinMo device, and I LOVE my WinMo phones.
Dwdod, I will be in Tyson's tomorrow for a Windows 7 launch event, but if you want to get together Thursday and get a preview before the Droid is in the stores Friday, let me know (PM me in case I don't get on the board tomorrow).
i760 user going BACK to i760 after playing with droid
Well, I have been playing with the droid for a week now and have made the decision to return it....
My primary reasons for returning it are because I am a serious road warrior with my phone as it is a business tool.
My Droid fails as a business tool in a couple areas (where my i760 does great)
1-teathering, got it to work but it is slow and a bit of a pain
2-Exchange outlook, email synces great, but the mail client is lacking functionality (accept invites, sort, folders, etc)
3- calancer (corporate) very lacking in functionality
4- call signal strength, I loose calls easily, and people complain of poor voice quality on their end
5- lack of edit capability on docs, xls, other office stuff (some apps available for a price though)
6-very hard to use while driving as everything takes multiple taps, slides, or other visual type things to do.
7-keyboard is a bit hard to use compared the great keyboard on the 760 (I could get used to it, and the landscape onscreen keyboard is actually very good)
8-Bluetooth functionality is very poor. No handsfree dial, voice command.
I think the phone is great for a casual user and the form factor is nice and it feels solid. I know there are OS updates due out in mid Dec, and again in Jan. that will (may) address some of this, but since I only have a 30 day window to decide if I want to keep it, I have decided to stay with my bulky but tried and true i760 and re-evaluate the droid once the new OS patch is released.
Not trying to rain on any parades, just wanted to give my feedback to those who are looking for a business phone and not able to compromise on the core phone and PIM functions we are accustomed to.

Not trying to argue your position, which is certainly understandable, just making a couple of points.
If signal strength was your only issue, it would be worth asking Verizon to replace with another unit. My Droid has the best signal and voice quality of any phone I have had in many years. Clearly yours either has a bad radio or needs RF tuning.
Doc capability. Yup, costs extra. When the i760 first came out, it was a much more expensive phone than the Droid (some of us got some accidental special pricing the first day, but most had to pay $200 After their NE2 and advanced device discount). That was partly because Verizon included the full versions of Mobile Office and MS Voice Command. Some cheaper Windows Mobile phones have lesser capabilities.
If you really want a new phone to replace the i760, I think the Touch Pro 2 is an excellent choice, but the i760 was and is a great device for the business traveler, particularly if your company supports Exchange Active Sync OTA.
