Lion Battery is pleased to announce the release of a new 2800mAh battery for the Audiovox/UTStarcom PPC6700. This new battery is now the most powerful battery available for the PPC6700.
Even more important is that this battery has a metal plate incorporated within it that, when mounted to the PPC6700 SmartPhone, helps increase signal strength to the SmartPhone. Unlike other batteries that lack this innovative feature, the stronger signal means that less power is consumed and longer battery life is achieved. Batteries without this metal plate, while less expensive, draw more power because of the necessity to compensate for the weaker signal and have a shorter usage time.
The new battery is the same physical size as our 2300mAh battery but has noticeably more capacity.
This battery is now in stock and shipping. If you have any questions, please let us know.

Will it fit the - 6700 specific - metal cases for extended batts? If not all, which brands does it fit? I'm game for the batt, but would not consider buying one unless I could order a perfectly-fitting metal case from some other outfit at the same time. Nex

Does that metal plate really help reception? Anyone know for sure?
I know the PPC6700 does have some reception problems, especially when you hold it in landscape with your hand near the antenna. If this helps that would be awesome.

If you check detail at the battery space. you will find some connector near the bottom not for the power supply. It's the connector for the antenna. It will help the phone increase the receive power like other modern no antenna phone. That's why the oem battery have metal plate too.

Okay, so that's pretty cool with the metal-plate thing. But question: Any plans on putting that onto the 1500mah batteries as well? If so (assuming it's possible, room-wise) I'd gladly pick one up!

It has always been in our 1500mAh battery. That is why ours is slightly more expensive.
can you buy the battery cover seperately? I already have a seidio battery
Dumb question for you but... why would you need a cover if you already have the battery? Didn't Seidio send you one? Next, I do not know if ours and Seidio's are the same form factor so it may not work. Lastly, which color, silver or black?
Seidio sent the cover- its plastic. I have found that given the bulge of the battery, removing it from the seidio clip I tend to push down on the cover, removing it frequently. Both of the bottom tabs are broken off mine- im awaiting a new one. I was thinking metal was a better design- if the tabs are metal as well.
