Mdfan,

I just want to clarify that our cover is also made out of plastic. The metal that we are speaking about above is on the battery side that faces in and touches the SmartPhone. The battery cover is not made of metal. So, it may be possible that the same problem you are facing could happen again.

Just so we're clear on this.

Our black cover is molded out of black material. It is not painted black.

Only if you place it in the shape of a pyramid.

another advantages of metal plate is the case is so thin then the space inside the battery pack is more, than we can put a higher caps battery inside. So if seidio battery don't have the metal plate. Then their 1500mAh battery cell must a very modification model we can't find on the market.

I haven't used this battery personally, I just want to step in and say Lion Battery is an excellent company to do business with and ships very quickly. I am tempted to jump on this item, but not sure if I like the bulge. I wish someone would do a comparison between this the Sedio 2400mAh and the lion 2300mAH battery. I dont need $200 worth of batteries and Seideo didn't seem interested in sending me one for testing, so I'm out I guess. Anyone who already has the others though should really test to see how much performance they get. I would be much obliged, would also make a lot of peoples buying decisions easier.

Batteries without this metal plate, while less expensive, draw more power because of the necessity to compensate for the weaker signal and have a shorter usage time.

The new battery is the same physical size as our 2300mAh battery but has noticeably more capacity.

Do you guys ship to PO Boxes, or physical addresses only?

I definitely agree. Also, whoever has the new Lion battery should post if they get a better signal.

The claim of the metal plate can increase the singal strength is quite interesting and questionable. Based on our experienece and knowledges, we do not know how this can be achieved since it is not connected to Antenna directly. Even it does, still it is questionable this can be achieved and how metal plate can help to achieve this.

Last year while we were developing 2400 mah (Li-ion battery), we also evaluated to produce 3000 mah Li-Polymer battery for PPC 6700 ( two Li-polymer in series). We have the following concerns based on our experience:

1) The battery life cylce is shorter as compared with 2400 mah battery
2) The performance is almost same as 2400 mah one (Li-polymer has lower efficiency)
3) The battery becomes swelling quite often.
4) The failure rate is quite high as compared with 2400 mah one.

I do not know how Lionbattery achieves 2800 battery, but I guess it is two Li-polymer in series.

It is good to see Mark trying so hard to come out high capacity battery.

It depends on the shipping method you choose. If you choose UPS; UPS will not deliver to a PO Box, APO/FPO, etc. If you want it shipped to a PO Box (or APO/FPO), then choose the USPS shipping methods.

Seidio,

Nice to see you here (especially since my posting in your thread was mysteriously deleted!)

Since you haven't seen our battery let me tell you a very important thing, we are not using Lithium Polymer cells but Lithium Ion. And, just because you were not able to achieve the larger capacity, doesn't mean you should undermine ours. For example, we have never stated that your 2400mAh battery actually measures only 2200mAh. Whether or not it is true is irrelevant as it shows poor business practice. We are not out to criticize our competition. You have your strengths and weaknesses and we have ours. If Mugen Power wishes to comment on the above, we'll let them.

In the meantime, the important thing is that we have released a 2800mAh battery and we are pleased to announce it to the community. As far as we are concerned, competition bashing ends there.

Anyone know if the Seidio Swivel Clip Holster will still fit with this battery? I use the OEM extended battery and the Seidio holster is already pushing against the bottom of the battery.

This battery looks like it extends down to the bottom of the phone more than the OEM model and I could see it not fitting well.

Lion Battery

Very well put.

A quick question, I already ordered my battery. Where do I choose the shipping method? I didn't see it as a choice while I was ordering it.
