im looking for a replacement battery door fot the extended battery. i remember seeing a link for it being $5.00. anyone know where that's at?
i don't think that seidio should have upped their price for it. why would i pay $15.44 including shipping for a battery cover when i could just buy the cover and a cheapo battery elsewhere for the same price?

Seidio sells additional extended covers. They are available in either Silver (Sprint) or Black (Verizon).

Cost is $9.95 each plus P&H. (They were $5 each)...

does anyone know if the eBay extended battery covers will fit the seidio extended battery?
am I the only one that is unhappy with the idea of paying $15 for a piece of plastic?

The current battery door we are offering is scratch resistant type. It is also made of high impact material. The price is higher. we still have the previous battery door available at $ 5.95. It is not on the web site. but you can call David Silver (832-204-1104) if you are interested in.

Was wondering if you had a time frame on when you will be offering a higher capacity battery other than the 2400mah? Thanks

Hi,

All I can tell you right now is that we are exploring possibilities. If it is possible, then chances are it will happen in the future. Sorry I can't be more explicit, but that's all I have for now.

New battery review

In June I bought the Seidio 2400mAh battery, in the kit that included a screen protector and a stylus-pen. Just thought I'd share my opinions of it after a month or so.

This battery, or one like it, is a must-have...the battery that came with my phone was down around 20% capacity by the end of the day after only moderate use, about the same lifespan of my Kyocera 7135's battery by the time I stopped using it--and that was after two years of use!

That's just not enough juice! So, with some other odds and ends, I got the 2400mAh from Seidio. You'd think (or I would, anyway) that a 2400mAh compared to a 1350mAh (I think that's the rating of the OEM battery?) would give you maybe slightly less than double run time, but I have to tell you, it seems like much more than that. It took a few charges for it to reach its apparent maximum duration, but now that it has it seems I never put the phone to bed without 70% left on the battery meter, with the same use pattern I had before. I've only gotten it down to 10% a handful of times, and this is when I've been really working the phone, taking videos or running the internet all day. So I'm very happy so far with the battery itself.

The battery cover has the odd little hump, which can't be helped based on the shape of the battery, but this has not been any sort of an inconvenience at all...if you lie it on its back it lies there just as sturdily as if the old cover were still on. It doesn't get in my way at all; if anything, it gives me something more to hold onto when I'm using it. It fits perfectly into the Seidio plastic holster I ordered as well.

The cover's finish has been talked about in this thread, and I was expecting something much worse than this...as far as I can tell the color and the 'grain' are identical to the original finish in appearance. If I look REALLY close I'd say that the grain of the new cover is maybe a teensy bit less fine than the original, but you have to really stare to see this. I haven't seen any of the problems mentioned on here about the cover's finish. True that there are a couple of slight scratches on the cover, from normal use leaving the phone lying about on tables and so forth (never dropped, thanks to the Seidio holster), and there're none on the case of the phone itself (much to my surprise), but seriously, I can't really expect to use this phone for a few years and not get it scratched up.

My only complaint, if you can call it that, is that the cover doesn't seem to fit terribly securely onto the phone, just kinda slides in and hangs on somehow. But to be fair, it's never fallen off or anything, so it hasn't posed a problem.

So it's a good battery! I have nothing to compare it to, other than the OEM battery, but it beats the heck out of that.

PS. The battery kit, by the way, arrived at my door REALLY QUICKLY. I don't remember now how long it took, exactly, but I remember thinking, whoa, that's here already??? Well done Seidio.

im really looking into getting this extended battery but i only have one concern. i use an arkon window mount for put my phone in when im using tomtom. Its one of the universal ones that you put it in and close the two side panels on it. It fits fine now but im worried with the extended battery door that it might stick to far out for the two sides to close on the phone securely. Does anyone know if this would be an issue? Thanks

Hey,

Has anyone bought the extended battery that does not increase the size of the phone. Seidio says you get 11% more life, I was wondering if anyone bought it and the 11% was worth it. If 11% is really 5% it.s really not worth it, but 11% might be I figure.

Thanks

Beth
