Took the plunge and filed down the edges
Well I took the plunge and took a tool and gound down the edges just slightly. This made all the differnece in the world. Took about one minute. I agree why send it back when this is all that is necessary. If I can do it anyone can. So now everything is ok. Thanks for all of the posts on this thread.

I'm an IT Consultant and I'm constantly connected to something as part of my current assignment supporting production environments. My phone does all kinds of things at night and stays connected to my network. I have apps that poll servers occasionally, etc. It's probably a lot more usage than even needed right now, but I'm giving this thing a real run-through. It's a personal quest to get some other folks I work with to understand how remote administration really can work.
I know that my battery usage is quite heavy, so I wanted the extended for just that reason, when there are times that I cannot be near a charger, I'm a little more comfortable. Granted, I have a charger on my nightstand, so I'm not worried there. This was just a test to see if the 2400mAh rating was, more or less, really correct. It gave me a consistant set of numbers to go by, my phone is always around 30-40% in the mornings that I forget to plug it into the charger the night before, so I knew that I had something decent to base it on. I'm not complaining about the current battery, it's just using the data in front of me.
Not that I don't trust this company, BTW, I 've heard a lot of good things so far, but I always investigate things on my own, for my own sake.
So, while I could probably tweak things and drop the power usage some, it's not worth the time right now since things work well enough and I would probably still want to an extended battery to be more comfortable with having enough juice when I can't get to a charger.
With all that said, I'm happy to say that, so far, I am glad I bought this battery. I woke up this morning and the battery was at 60%, so I believe that things are pretty much right on track. I knew it was going to be oversized and probably would be a tight fit in the OEM holster, and definately not fit in the brando workshop case I bought (I'm sad, I really really like that case), but I'm hoping someone will be on the ball and something similar will come around that will house the phone with this extended battery. In the meantime, I can squeeze it into the OEM holster and I've considered trying to modify the brando workshop leather case...anyhow, I digress...
So it fits well and the back cover matches well. The back cover was a little finicky to put into place, the first time, but I must have worked it out in my head as it goes on and comes off just as easily as the original cover now anyhow...so no biggie there. Now, as far as how this battery holds up over the long term, that's another story...but one that only time will tell.
The only other thing I would like to have seen was a small rubber strip on the cover, similar to the one on the original cover. Sometimes the phone get set on to a sloped surface and that helped keep it from sliding right off. I'm going to look into something I read somewhere in this form about some product called Grips or something like that and I'm sure that'll take care of it for me...this was just something I thought would be a nice "extra".
As a side note, I had ordered one of the extended batteries from Lion as well. I'm going to go ahead and still let that one come in. I figure I can never go wrong having a backup around and I'm curious to compare the two products.
Thank you Seidio, nice product.
----- Edit ----
I am using the Sprint PPC-6700...
Oh, BTW, the battery fits into the extra slot in the OEM charger just fine. Also, the phone will sit in that cradle with the extended battery in as well...again, just fine. I had seen people questioning that and, in case you didn't infer this from other info posted earlier, I thought I'd just say it out right .

Thank you for the powerful mini-review for Seidio 2400 mah battery. The battery performance is within expectation.
OEM stock battery 1350 mah 30-40% in the morning
Seidio extended battery 2400 mah 60 % in the morning
2400/1350 = 1.77
1.77 x 35% = 61.9%
It is right on !

Hilarious? Take it for what it's worth. I really don't care if your phone craps out after 5 minutes, I simply thought you might appreciate some feedback from other users. (obviously not)
Anyway, the only way your battery use should be possible is if you are using the wireless connection all night, to which I would say you should find a way to leverage the EVDO capabilities of the phone. As a consultant, I'm sure you can work that out.

Well, I own a managed network service provider and I don't have apps that poll servers occasionally, I have apps that monitor entire networks 24/7 in real time and push alerts to my phone based on pre-configured criterion. I still manage to have 90% battery left when I wake up.

Look, I'm not here to get into a pissing match with you. I do appreciate feedback from other users...especially when it's constructive and meaningful. Not when someone wants to try to be smart. Simply telling me that I should seriously take a look at my setup after "8 hours of no use" is not feedback. You made an assumption, I simply pointed out that it was incorrect. I appreciate the attempt, it simply made me chuckle because it really wasn't based on any real understanding about my situation. That's why I said that...my apologies if I came across in a negative way, not my intention.
If I had total control of the production environments that I am supporting, I'd be happy to leverage other capabilities and technologies. As it stands, you can't just go in and change code in this production environment when you feel like it. There are processes involved in making changes in a CMM Level 4 shop. So I do what I can do for now. This, as a consultant, I realize. I don't own the setup, I can only provide advice and then let the client take it from there.
I would love to be able to do that, it would make my life a lot easier. Instead, I have to rely on another group that monitors these servers for the initial alarms and errors. From there, I use the pocket pc to provide more data to me quickly. I can't always whip out a laptop, this pocket pc happens to be a wonderful alternate. I did not design the original systems that way, I can only work with what I've been given for now and introduce changes to improve this, as they are approved. Even then, there are plenty of financial politics that get in the way of that. It's a very complex relationship of outsourcing to three other vendors that happened and it has really made life a living hell for those in the trenches.
I'm sorry for hijacking this thread, I'm sure this thread isn't the place to continue this, so if you'd like to discuss it further, Mr. Moto, please feel free to PM me and we'll make other arrangements.

I also have the 90% experience. I've also noticed that when the battery meter is down to one bar, the readout is 30-40%.
The Seido 2400 is very impressive. I was running on wifi with bluetooth, and Skype and AgileMessenger, and plenty of voice radio use too. I was surprise to see I still had 20% power after 7 hours of that heavy use. I would normally have had to pack it in and run to my charger by late morning.
Battery is certainly bigger and makes phone heavier, but I've always bought big batteries. Power user means user of power ...no getting around it.
I may get another and just use the orginal for social gatherings.
Now if we just had a way to add more memory.

Does the stock extended battery charge to 100% when using the charging cradle slot?
Does the 2400mAh Seidio shows a charge only to 90% when charging in the phone?

Yes, we are working on the battery which is the same size of stock slim battery. we plan to announce it soon.

Seidio charging
Edwood,
The battery level when charging in the cradle or just with the AC adapter shows 100%. Finally this morning, the level stayed at 100%, but dropped to 90% again shortly thereafter (very minimal useage so far).
All in all, I am very impressed with Seidio. Quality, speed of delivery, and confidence that I could order again with with the same level of satisfaction.

If I remember my manufacturering classes, there is something known as varience. One holster can be made -x mm off from specifications, the specific batter going on the PPC for that holster can be -y mm off from specifications ... end result, you get a perfectly fitting holster/ppc w/ ext battery! Well, I really hope Seido's factory(s) are NOT that bad, but you can never tell with these after-market items you know.
