WEAK!
Mugen worst attribute has been their handling of new products. They could use some better marketing skills. Don't get me wrong: they make top-notch products and have excellent customer service after the sale. Unfortunately, they don't understand their customer's desire for timely information regarding their products. The PPC community moves very fast. Mugen doesn't react well to that.
One thing is for sure: when it does come out, it will be priced nicely and be an excellent product.

freddie, that sounds about right to me. The mAh % increase should be proportional to the % of increased usage.
RedBaronKI have used their batteries in the past with a Dell Axim X5, X50v, and Toshiba e800. They are superb products. I have always been very impressed with them. Mugen doesn't have a website that I know of. They are the OEM of the batteries and rely on other sites to sell them.
The specs for the extended looks very good, but the standard version doesn't look like it's worth it, unless you desperately need just a little more juice to get by each day's usage.
VzW sells the official Samsung standard battery for $40.
The Mugen standard battery from the Lion Battery site sells for $60, that's 50% more expensive for only an (optimistically estimated) 40% power gain.
The % mAh increase to $ increase doesn't add up exactly, but you do pay a premium for the advantage of not having to carry around another battery and switch them out. I think it is worth it for that advantage.

Or is it more complicated than that?
I need to be careful commenting about batteries, as a number of people will simple say "just buy one" or some such.
But yes, that is correct. The charge time will increase also. Also, generally, the internal resistance of a larger battery is lower, those a little more efficient. So it is possible that the larger batteries will be fractionally more efficient and last even longer. But those values are likely too small to matter.
If the 1550 isn't too large, that would be a better alternative then the large stock extended battery which is hard to get in many cases.
I got one of their batteries for a Toshiba E805. It was a little larger then stock, but a lot larger capacity. Very nice.
OT, but.. If I buy a replacement battery from VZW's site, do I get one with the V logo on it or does it have that "designed for Windows Mobile" sticker on it?
Obviously, I know the answer for the Mugen..
On topic, will thhe Mugen's use the standard charger [included with the phone] or do they have some sort of special charger that is built for their batteries?
