Verizon will not program my phone to go onto thier service. We all know there is more than one way to skin a cat. Can I use the toolkit 3.2 to copy my good verizon software from my working phone and upload it to my Alltel 7135?
Okay, I did just that and I am on Verizons towers now, but, I noticed my MZ SZ shizzy didnt change. Also when I tried *228, it failed. Maybe cause of the MZ AZ shizzy? Its been a while since I done all this, but, i wonder why it didnt transfer that too?? Hmmm, back to more searching. I am happy I got that far!!
apparently I got something but not another??? I went back to check and I see that the PRL was NOT updated. Looked around the board and tried it again. It errored this time and said backup ESN numbers do not match phone. Hmmm....So, I go a looking for ESN number in software qcn? file and cant find it.................drat!!!!
Don't know what you mean by "toolkit 3.2", but either way, you will need to get VZW to switch ESNs on your line of service, which they won't do for the KWC7135.
KWPST, also known as the "toolkit" if i am correct. Anyhow, I finally got the thing to work, but I cheated. All I had to do was use the "transfer" program, but, in my learning curve time frame, I didn’t think that would have transferred all the files I needed. I was so busy trying to hack/transfer and rewrite/label everything I didn’t even try the transfer program to see what it would do to rule it out, lol. Oh well, live and learn. I am not sure if I missed something, but, the 3.8 version I have lets you compare files side by side and highlights the differences. Though it is interesting it shows you data you can’t see in the spreadsheet itself, which makes you want to get into it that much more. I see in the 3.4 there was an option to do that, but, it wasn’t highlighted. I didn’t spend enough time in there to see why, other fish to fry.
I thought there was people in here who changed from Alltel to Verizon???? And trust me, I am looing for them, I am all set for my last final act.
I'm not sure why you'd need KPST to activate a phone with Verizon. In fact I'm just gonna go ahead and say you don't. All you need is for Verizon to put the new ESN on your account, dial *228 to program it, and off you go. Problem is, they won't do it.
