Help! -- Verizon tells me no go for ALLTELL

After reading that Verizon can switch alltell phones to thier network, I buy an alltell and go to the verizon store to have it programed. I told them my original was lost so they would not ask questions. first they say its too old. Then they say its not 911 complient. THEN she says they no longer support this phone IN thier store and cant flash it. I say that I called and someone said you could do it. Then they say okay but cant find a cord. They then find one but it does not fit. the manager comes out and says they cant support it, they will call tech, somewhere in BF egypt. Tech gets on the phone with me and says Verizon is not allowed to use the phone until after Feb 08, when Alltel unlocks it. I say it is already unlocked. I tell her all you do is put the ESN number in a hexadecimal spread sheet program, or whatever it is, and it gives you the unlock number. Then I say I know this and its unlocked, but, she says I am not getting it. After 45 minutes of playing with the clowns, like I knew would happen, I leave.

Can anyone on here that had an ALLTELL phone tell me which location they used to switch thier phone over? Phone number to the place would be nice but zip code location will work, thanks.

If you're talking about the KWC7135, the reason they won't activate it is not because it's from ALLTEL, but because they don't allow this model phone on their network anymore. They usually use the e911 excuse to get rid of you, but that's just a pretense, it has been acknowledged several times that Verizon banned the KWC7135 from their network for other reasons.

But here you said it was a 2-year battle to get it activated:

Maybe you can elaborate a little more on your situation and what it is you're trying to accomplish. You seem to focus on the fact that the phone you're trying to activate now is ALLTEL branded, which has nothing to do with Verizon's refusal to activate it for you. They'd give you the same runaround with a Verizon branded KWC7135. How did you get the other one activated and what took 2 years to accomplish it?
