I had my 7135 for a year and two months ish. I lavished him in abuse, backpacking trips, flights to the floor from my hand, two year old playing on the memo paint, three screens of games, case upgrades, one trip to michigan to replace the pda board, stripped screws and the list goes on. Unfortunately, poor ol' kyo's time has been surrendered to the pda phone god.....lousy &^(*# thing wont power on for more than a second and when it does the digitizer repeats the same three targets indefinitely. So, nice to see that Mark is still around and helping us poor folks. TWO MAIN POINTS:
1: Gonna get a new pda phone, its gotta be for a CDMA network. Anyone (mguzzy slvrdragon) got an opinion on which one?
2: I've got a cradle and kyo travel charger, two kyo batteries, kyo car charger, motorolla stereo headset made for the phone and a broken aparatus. Offers : captain_axle@comcast.net.
Poor thing I really liked this phone. There were so many awesome things it could do. It may get the seven gun salute if no one wants it for parts.
As for question number one, I recommend you take a look at the Pantech PN-820, or UTStarcom XV-6700, depending on whether you meed a more phone-centric or more PDA-centric device.
I guess I am more pda-centric. It a status thing to whip out your phone and plod away with a stylus. Then you get the look of, 'hey isn't that your phone too?' Boy I love that. Its the nerd in me....
If you're set on getting a new PDA/phone, I would recommend the Treo 755P on Sprint. Sprint's unlimited data network access is among the least expensive around ($15/month). Verizon charges three times that much, and their service is not unlimited even though they advertise it as being so.
I think I am going to upgrade. Its sad, but I think Slvrdrgn has got good advice. I am gonna run to the sprint store after work to see what they got and how much. If its way outta my ballpark, I may be taking you up on your offer Ron. THANKS!!
Oh man! another one bites the dust!... Alas all things change. Michaels right... VZW's data plans suck.. especially if you've been able to keep the 'ole MOU alive on your account. If your going to stick with the Palm OS the Treo's are the only thing left... I know Verizon, as are other carriers, are getting ready to release a bunch of new phones this summer so you might want to wait for those... or take advantage of the liquidation that is happening as they try to get rid of old stock.
I decided to switch to a PocketPC phone as it seems to work best with the type of IT support I do. And I am liking the bigger screen real estate. Both platforms have lots of apps for them so that's usually not an issue. I find that when I help my clients choose a PDA phone, find out what they plan on using it for and if the have any particular software requirements goes a long way toward narrowing the choices.

Well, I actually didn't have a carrier that allowed data stuff at all so I never had the browser. I used the crap out this ol boy for calendar, mp3, games, phone obviously, it basically ran my life. He replaced my old day planner. I talked my boss into getting one and she picked up that new one that AT&T just put out. Windows mobile and the works. I can deal without the internet. So can my wallet by the sound of it. I actually checked out the 755p. Naw, don't care for the exposed keyboard really...am I pickey or what. So whats the 411 with the new iphone....pricey I know. BUT IT LOOKS REALLY COOL....I have a brother in law that works for spring wireless. I guess they are partnered with Cingular/AT&T. He said he can get me a discount on one. I'll let you know if I get it or not. In the mean time I am still shopping for something new. I can use all the "hey, check this one out" 's you can come up with. Thanks Gentlemen!!
Axle 80...
So your being lured in by the iPhone hype.. no doubt you've been reading that forum. I'm really leery of the iPhone's usefulness for businessmen. What Calendar app are you using currently? Its my understanding that the iPhone will have the Apple PIM that syncs through iTunes. It won't likely sync with Outlook if that is what you use. I would wait and see on that one... If the exposed keyboard on the Treos doesn't agree with you check out the impending release of the i760, 6800, etc. the keyboards retract on those devices.

I just saw a $700 price tag on the new iphone.....uh..... Unless my bro-in-law gets a half priced demo or something. My cousin gave me her old ppc6600, wow this sucka is huge....I might not even bother learning to use it in exchange for the new 6800. It pretty snazzy by my standards. I'd better start researching it.

The iPhone syncs with Outlook just fine. My only gripe so far is that it doesn't list the name of the meeting creator for Exchange users. That should work great for people who setup meetings with no sensible topic and no notes.
